DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented CPW Shift Leader to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Edmonton Warehouse in Alberta.

Job Summary:

Provides operations leadership for small or medium size warehouse or Distribution Center, shift or department. Manages one or multiple shifts of warehouse operations including transportation and packaging. Provide safe working environment for all Cummins and contract employees. Ensure internal and external customer requirements are met through the Cummins Operating System.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Drive operational excellence by leading and improving warehouse operations, including transportation and packaging, to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost targets.
  • Establish clear performance measures and monitor results to ensure accountability and continuous improvement across all operational areas.
  • Lead strategic planning through annual operating plans, forecasts, and key performance indicators that support Parts Distribution Center objectives.
  • Develop supply chain capabilities by coaching and mentoring employees, setting goals for training, performance, and career growth.
  • Champion Cummins values by promoting diversity, community involvement, and environmental initiatives within the site.
  • Ensure supply chain reliability by managing daily operations across functions and addressing issues promptly to maintain stability and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects aligned with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, leveraging common processes and tools.
  • Foster collaboration and alignment by building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, and supporting cross-business planning initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Lead with safety and drive root cause investigations and action plans.
  • Direct work and deliver results on safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Build strong, inclusive teams and foster collaboration across functions.
  • Communicate clearly with employees, union reps, and stakeholders.
  • Master warehouse and transportation operations to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement aligned with Cummins Operating System.
  • Manage complexity and KPIs to solve problems and stabilize operations.
  • Apply supply chain and trade knowledge to reduce risk and optimize cost. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related subject required. MBA preferred. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Moderate level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Candidates with equivalent experience will be considered; relevant hands-on experience is prioritized.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost. Works cross-functionally with Inventory Management and Quality teams.
  • Responsible leading safety as well as incident investigations, root cause analysis and actions plans.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement.
  • Edmonton CPW is a logistics facility shipping primarily to customers in Western Canada.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
