DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Material Planner to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for Our Materials Department in Daventry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom

This hybrid role is a 12-month cover.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Optimizing Inventory Management – Ensuring optimal stock levels by analyzing supply and demand trends, preventing overstock or shortages, and improving overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Aligning Supply with Demand – Using statistical analysis to bridge the gap between demand forecasts and supply plans, ensuring stability and responsiveness in operations.
  • Enhancing Data-Driven Decision-Making – Running simulations and impact assessments on planning parameter changes, providing actionable insights to improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Proactively Identifying Risks – Monitoring demand signals and stock levels to flag potential disruptions, allowing for timely corrective actions that minimize operational bottlenecks.
  • Improving Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working closely with different teams to align supply chain processes, fostering better communication and efficiency across departments.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement – Engaging in process improvement initiatives, quality checks, and best practice implementations to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Supporting Compliance & Safety Standards – Adhering to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, contributing to a safe and regulatory-compliant work environment.
  • Developing Professional Growth & Expertise – Continuously improving skills through training and knowledge-sharing, staying ahead in supply chain planning and analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong Inventory and Materials Management Skills: Ability to use Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles to manage materials, ensure part availability, and optimize inventory levels while aligning with supply chain goals and customer delivery requirements.
  • Proficiency in Data and Analytics: Skilled in using Excel and other tools to analyze and optimize inventory, apply algorithms for decision-making, and evaluate supply chain performance using KPIs.
  • Effective Communication and Problem-Solving: Clear communication with suppliers, management, and teams to address material issues and ensure smooth operations; capable of identifying supply chain gaps and addressing challenges.
  • Organizational and Prioritization Abilities: Strong time-management skills to balance workloads, ensure timely part deliveries, and execute efficient planning across various supply chain functions, including demand and supply alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

. Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
