Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is seeking a Market Data Product Manager to help drive end-to-end product execution for market data platform capabilities that support clients and advisor experiences, with accountability for roadmap delivery, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment that enables growth across Wealth Management offerings.

The individual in this role will be responsible for defining, building, and reviewing end-to-end market data delivery experiences for a variety of products at Morgan Stanley / E*TRADE. The applicant should bring a strong product management skillset with key focus on providing a best-in-class end user experience, understanding the competitive landscape, and the ability to drive improvements. Partnership and collaboration with a variety of groups across the firm will be key to success.

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Disciplined Product Management: Lead the product development life cycle, including problem definition, solution discovery, and post launch results optimization. Data driven approach to decisions informed by usage, client feedback, competitive and business intelligence.

  • Roadmap Development & Management: Build and maintain prioritized feature backlog in jira and define product roadmap by partnering closely with key stakeholders, including technology, service, UX, Legal, Risk, compliance and digital and platform product teams to align on impact and delivery timelines.

  • Strategic Prioritization: Priority management with a sound metrics driven framework for a balanced approach to trade-offs between value add and resource investment.

  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate with stakeholders from business, technology, UX, customer service, Ops, and legal & compliance to elicit requirements.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risk and issues that may impact roadmap delivery and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

  • Business Reviews: Orchestrate business reviews and update forums for the project progress and delivery. Responsible for planning, material creation, preparation, execution, and follow through of discussion items


Skills Required:

  • 9.5 years of transferrable experience across work and higher education

  • Deep understanding of Price & Reference Data Feeds and Data sources, including Options, Equities, Bonds, FX, Futures and digital assets

  • Perspective and insight into retail online customer investing needs, as well as the Market Data &   Tools that support those needs.

  • Proven track-record managing multiple projects, with demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results under tight timelines.

  • Proven experience in building and maintaining a Market data plant oriented towards Wealth Management services

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering new innovative fintech, digital products, solutions, or applications preferred

  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills: Ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization and tailor messaging appropriately. Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills. 

  • Demonstrates effective leadership and discipline within a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to communicate business goals and functional requirements effectively to any audience within the enterprise.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and build strong relationships with internal clients and data providers -- e.g., exchanges, vendors.

  • Skilled at defining business and functional requirements for all sizes of software development projects.

  • Experience with and knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle.

  • Experience in working in an agile development environment.

  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey perspectives and analysis to stakeholders

  • Bachelor's degree is required

Salary range for the position: $110,000 and $190,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
