We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in the Legal & Compliance Division, Data & Analytics, this team provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses
In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Vice President level position within the Data & Analytics team responsible for designing and optimizing surveillance models, approaches and tools using advanced analytical techniques like supervised and unsupervised machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and evolving techniques like reinforcement and deep learning as well as graph analytics. The surveillances and other tools help identify suspicious and/or illegal behaviors like money laundering, market manipulation, insider trading, unfair sales or trading practices and other financial crimes.

What you'll do in the role
Lead a team of data scientists and analysts in designing and delivering advanced analytics products for the Legal & Compliance Division
Drive data science initiatives in the financial domain, with proven experience managing model development, optimization, and deployment
Oversee enhancement of existing machine learning models and provide tooling support for GenAI and automation programs
Apply deep working knowledge of trading and order data, with a focus on detecting manipulation patterns and strengthening control environments.
Act as Product Owner to define strategy, build multi‑year roadmaps, and ensure successful execution of analytics and AI solutions
Partner with Financial Crimes, Compliance, Legal, and IT teams to assess risks by analyzing large datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques
Design and develop surveillance and compliance risk models using quantitative methods to improve monitoring, testing, and issue detection.
Conduct statistical analyses including threshold calibration, back‑testing, sensitivity analysis, productivity studies, and prepare model documentation to support validations
Develop and enhance quantitative frameworks and statistical methodologies to drive efficiency and improve model performance
Support periodic risk assessments by analyzing data elements tied to customer, product, and geographic risk; identify new quantitative indicators for integration into enterprise risk processes
Contribute to the design of key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance oversight, monitoring, and testing functions
Mentor and develop Data & Analytics talent in collaboration with leadership to build a high‑performing, scalable analytics team
What you'll bring to the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from premier institutes in mathematics, statistics, physics, computational finance, computer science or other quantitative fields
Knowledge of capital market products and/or trading, risk management experience
Experience in strong stakeholder management across different geographies
4 -6 years leading data scientists and/or primary ownership of Data products
12+ years of experience in advanced statistical analysis techniques including multi-variable data analysis and predictive modeling techniques. Hands-on and theoretical knowledge of various Machine Learning algorithms and tools, e.g. XGBoost/LightGBM, Random Forests, support vector machines (SVMs), PCA, K-means, DBSCAN, etc
Extensive experience using Python for statistical analysis and modeling. Experience in PySpark is a plus
Ability to articulate the effectiveness of the models to stakeholders and Model Risk Management team
Well-versed in writing efficient, scalable and production quality code and understanding of programming best practices
Strong problem solving and project management skills with the ability to work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to work with global, cross-functional teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in Distributed Computing & Cloud technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Scala, Databricks , SparQL or other related technologies) to analyze and process large data sets and writing scalable and efficient code
Strong SQL knowledge with experience in writing complex queries
Experience in leveraging AI and ML frameworks/tools like TensorFlow, Keras, H2O or DataRobot
Understanding of programming best practices and SDLC/ Model Ops processes
