Why Join Us

We foster an open culture where everyone belongs, differences are celebrated, and collaboration is key. We offer competitive benefits, flexible work models, exciting travel perks, and career development resources to fuel your passion for travel.

Why This Role Is Unique

You’ll be at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning, building systems that directly impact Expedia’s partners and marketplace performance. This is a chance to work on high-scale, ML-driven solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Team Overview

Our Supply and Marketplace division ensures competitive inventory and pricing while creating excellent experiences for partners and travelers. The Supply Coaching Foundation team helps partners grow their business through adaptive, ML-driven recommendations and insights. We build scalable data and ML pipelines that power these recommendations and continuously improve based on partner feedback.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines on the cloud, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

  • Prototype and iterate on ML pipelines to deliver minimum viable products aligned with architectural vision.

  • Own key phases of the ML lifecycle: feature engineering, model scoring, validation, and operationalization for enterprise-scale applications.

  • Integrate real-time inferencing and streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) into ML workflows.

  • Leverage SQL with business context for data extraction, transformation, and optimization across large datasets.

  • Collaborate with ML Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers to productionize ML models and GenAI capabilities.

  • Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring quality, maintainability, and scalability.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with product goals and communicate trade-offs effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering and ML pipeline development.

  • Proficiency in Python (primary) and Scala (secondary).

  • Strong SQL skills with ability to apply business context.

  • Experience with Spark, Hive, Databricks, and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow).

  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS preferred).

  • Understanding of ML lifecycle, including traditional ML and GenAI tools.

  • Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) and real-time inferencing.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with production ML ops and deployment strategies.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to align technical decisions with business objectives.

  • Passion for learning and staying ahead in ML, GenAI, and data engineering trends.
