We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our location in Morristown, TN

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Interpret and integrate engineering and product drawings to design efficient, high quality manufacturing workflows.
  • Drive Smart Equipment Decisions: Select and procure manufacturing equipment that meets technical requirements, project objectives, and long term operational needs.
  • Leverage Digital Manufacturing Tools: Use modeling and simulation to make data driven decisions that improve processes before physical changes occur.
  • Standardize and Improve Processes: Document procedures clearly and implement continuous improvement methods that reduce waste, enhance quality, and boost productivity.
  • Design Safe, Ergonomic Workspaces: Create workstations, tools, and fixtures that improve operator safety, comfort, and performance while supporting cost, quality, and delivery targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apply Manufacturing Principles Effectively: Build a solid understanding of Cummins manufacturing practices so you can contribute to process improvements, equipment enhancements, and safe, efficient operations.
  • Support Projects with HandsOn Execution: Assist in developing and implementing manufacturing processes by working closely with internal and external partners to meet safety, quality, and business objectives.
  • Use Continuous Improvement Tools: Leverage structured improvement methods to help create manufacturing standards, refine work methods, and reduce waste across processes.
  • Strengthen Technical and Analytical Skills: Learn to interpret data, equipment needs, and process requirements to support better decision making and contribute meaningfully to project outcomes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Basic level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a forging and machining environment preferred.
  • CNC programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Creo for plant layouts and design of components preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
