DESCRIPTION

Watch this video to learn more about Cummins Inc.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

 Deliver reliable hands-on support to manufacturing by skillfully operating tools, machinery, and specialized equipment with minimal supervision, keeping production running smoothly.

 Maintain a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, using proper PPE, following HSE protocols, and speaking up immediately to prevent injuries or incidents.

 Contribute to environmental responsibility by recognizing how your work affects resources and actively reducing waste, energy use, and negative impact.

 Uphold high quality standards by following technical documentation, performing precise inspections, and ensuring workmanship meets or exceeds expectations.

 Improve equipment reliability by performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance while helping analyze downtime and failure trends.

 Support operational efficiency by identifying constraints, solving problems, and contributing ideas that streamline processes and reduce costs.

 Strengthen team performance through clear communication, collaboration with peers and support teams, and active participation in improvement initiatives like TPM.

 Grow your impact over time by continuously building your technical skills, completing training, and taking ownership of both your performance and the success of the operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful, you will need to consistently demonstrate the following:

 Build strong partnerships by collaborating openly with teammates, maintenance, engineering, and support staff to achieve shared production and safety goals.

 Communicate clearly and intentionally—whether in shift handoffs, reporting issues, or documenting work—so others can quickly understand needs, risks, and next steps.

 Stay customer-focused by understanding how your work impacts internal and external customers, prioritizing quality, uptime, and responsiveness.

 Make sound, timely decisions on the floor by balancing safety, quality, and production needs—especially in fast-moving or high-pressure situations.

 Develop self-awareness by seeking feedback, reflecting on your performance, and continuously improving both your technical and interpersonal skills.

 Drive results by staying accountable, following through on tasks, and maintaining high performance even during breakdowns, tight deadlines, or unexpected challenges.

 Be a nimble learner—adapt quickly to new equipment, processes, and problems, and treat mistakes and successes as opportunities to grow.

 Lead with safety and inclusion by proactively identifying hazards (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic), following safe work practices, applying your manufacturing knowledge to improve processes, and valuing diverse perspectives to strengthen team outcomes.
