We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director in our Centralized Closure Verification team responsible for closure verifying audit and regulatory identified issues.
The Internal Audit Division (IAD) drives attention and resources to vulnerabilities by providing an independent and well-informed view and impactful messages about the most important risks facing our Firm. This is accomplished by performing a range of assurance activities to independently assess the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley's system of internal control, including risk management and governance systems and processes. IAD serves as an objective and independent function within the Firm's risk management framework to foster continual improvement of risk management processes. This is a Director level position within the Business Audit family responsible for inspecting controls in front, middle and back offices.

What you'll do in the role:
Understanding of the audit principles, tools, processes especially including issue validation/closure verification process which primarily includes the following
Conduct comprehensive validation of remediation efforts for moderately complex issues including enhanced/new controls and/or corrective actions completed by the Management
Understanding the risks and root cause associated to the issues and testing of the design and/or operating effectiveness of the controls in a timely manner
Effectively collaborate with stakeholders to gather supporting documentation and build stakeholder relationship both within and outside the Internal Audit department
Independently formulate viewpoint on the appropriateness of Management's remediation efforts and provide credible challenge and recommendations to stakeholders where needed
Appropriately assess the Residual risk, document the work performed to clearly articulate the results/conclusion of testing/validation activities with limited level of direct supervision
Ability to manage and mentor 2-3 direct reports and be responsible for driving goals and feedback conversations
Responsible for performing QC on the workpapers to ensure compliance with audit methodology and identify, drive, and track strategic initiatives for quality management
Basic project management skills along with assisting senior leadership with periodic metrics reporting

What you'll bring to the role:
Masters'/ Bachelors' Degree (Finance related preferred)
6-8 years of working experience within Audit or Control functions (like Risk management or Compliance) within banking industry.
ACA, CPA, CIA, CRMA, CAMS, CISA, CISM qualifications or equivalent is preferred.
AAbility to effectively multi-task and manage multiple competing deliverables within tight timeframes without compromising on quality of output.
Identify and implement efficiencies and process improvements opportunities including the ability to understand and adopt new audit tools and techniques (e.g., data analytics) and contribute to organize/conduct learning and development sessions to ensure the use of best-in-class processes and procedure
Prior relevant experience in the financial services industry is required with sound understanding of the business (such as Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, Investment Management, Wealth Management etc.) and/or technology as well as of relevant regulatory requirements (i.e., Heightened Standards) for large Banks and related regulatory requirements/expectation
Ability to coach and mentor others and create an inclusive work environment for team
Willingness to solicit and provide feedback to further develop self and peers.
