The HGS Mechanical engineering team is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering design and analysis tasks which requires knowledge of engineering theory and principles to determine design solutions for electronic, electromechanical and optical head up display and guidance products for both the commercial and military fields. Our engineers are responsible for ensuring products are safe and comply with aviation standards. This role is onsite, in Wilsonville, Oregon.
What You Will Do:
- You will design, analyze, test and document hardware under guidance of more senior engineers.
- You will perform under a process oriented development system.
- You will generate and present clear and concise task status presentations to team members.
- You will create and present clear and concise technical descriptions to team members.
- You will complete designs that meet documented hardware requirements.
- You will create designs to optimize weight, volume, cost and manufacturability while meeting structural, thermal and other environmental and functional requirements.

- Packaging optics and electronics in complex configurations.
- Investigating solutions for open ended complex problems for vision systems and sensors.
- Opportunities to grow CAD skills and structural and thermal analysis techniques.
- You will gain hands on experience in building prototypes, using additive manufacturing capabilities to show progress to meet product requirements.
- You will learn to improve and showcase your ability to present information to peers and management about your design choices and options.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Analysis and application of appropriate tolerances using Geometric.
- Knowledge of Dimensioning and Tolerance principles and basic understanding of basic stress and strain theory.
- Experience with FEA software package (ANSYS preferred) and in a 3D CAD solid modeling software package (SolidWorks and/or UG NX preferred).
- Static structural, dynamic structural and thermal analysis techniques.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
