What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Finance in New York, New York to perform regular Risk-Weighted Asset Capital calculation process execution based off of VBA-enabled access databases and Excel. Execute analysis for calculated results, coordinate investigation and rationale with the product managers to validate analysis. Troubleshoot issues on the VBA-enabled Access databases and Excel. Coordinate with the Technology team in the decommission of VBA enabled Access databases and Excel. Develop tactical solutions to assist in retiring the VBA enabled Access databases and Excels as a bridge to the strategic technology migrations, aiming at improved controls, accurate calculations and efficiency. Perform analysis alongside partner teams to progress on data quality enhancements and mitigation. Optimize Capital Calculation processes. Assist with month-end, earnings release and quarter end close Risk-Weighted Asset reporting. Automate the Comprehensive Capital and FR Y14A and semi-annual Quantitative Investment Strategies processes. Respond to regulatory, audit and business questions with portfolio insights and statistics. Prepare and file quarterly and annual regulatory reports and other Federal Reserve Board reports. Work on enhancements including streamlining processes, issue resolution, and required reporting changes. Perform UAT testing and implementation. Provide data analytics and impact analysis to assist with ad hoc requests/projects. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s in Finance, or a related field.

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Vice President, Risk Manager, Senior Associate, Risk Analyst, or a related role.

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Financial services regulatory requirements including Comprehensive Capital and Analysis Review (CCAR), capital stress testing, and P&L balance sheet calculations;
  • Rational database, including analyzing large data sets using Python and SQL tools;
  • Analytical technology tools including Python and R;
  • Legacy tools including Excel, Access and VBA;
  • Collaborating with IT to migrate legacy tools to new technology;
  • Quality checking and troubleshooting complex business procedure and analytical tools;
  • Working on the user acceptance testing and the production process for technology migration or ETL migration;
  • Working with financial products in banking industry; and
  • Calculations and processes around U.S. Regulatory Capital rules.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $209,000 and $209,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
