DESCRIPTION
Obtain input and negotiate with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver an optimized subsystem-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team. Utilize System Requirements Engineering knowledge and expertise to establish acceptance criteria requirements throughout the system lifecycle and assess impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule and resources. Make decisions in the areas of verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability. Investigate and address complex product concerns or issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results. Plan, track, and evaluate results for a wide range for analyses and functional tests to assess product risk and performance in order to drive quality decisions and proactively resolve product issues before the produce reaches the customer. Create, manage, improve, and apply processes including technical requirements, Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (iDFMEA), Engineering Standard Work (ESW), DVP&R optimization, test standards, and problem solving tools including Integrity, Microsoft Power BI, and McParts required to drive the processes and enable high quality decision making. Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems. Provide problem resolution leadership for complex systems utilizing knowledge of 7 Step Problem Solving Process to identify and analyze root causes. Utilize experience with Product Test Integration and Optimization to develop an understanding of customer duty cycles via damage modeling, compare analytical and experimental results and resolve differences to maintain calibrated analytical models, and generate experimental testing plans that deliver optimal analysis and test coverage. Apply principles of Product Verification and Validation Management to develop product systems validation plans to identify failure modes, while managing risk and relative priority. Produce recommendations with technical documentation to drive product decisions. Identify and analyze the interfaces and interactions across system boundaries, specifying the requirements and limits to ensure that the product meets requirements and integrate system elements by creating an integration plan using experience with Product Interface Management and Integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions require a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Product, Design, Validation or Test Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Product, Design, Validation or Test Engineer or related position. Experience to include: Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R); System Requirements Engineering; Assess product risk and performance; Integrated Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (iDFMEA); 7 Step Problem Solving Process to identify and analyze Root Causes; Product Test Integration and Optimization; Product Verification and Validation Management principles; Product Interface Management and Integration.
