Job Summary
The role supports day-to-day maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on assembly area operations. The position is responsible for preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of electrical, control, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure high equipment uptime, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
As part of a structured skilled trades or early-career development pathway, the role operates under guidance while building technical capability in electrical systems, PLCs, factory automation, and safe work practices, contributing to continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Technical Support
- Execute day-to-day electrical and control system maintenance activities, especially in the assembly area.
- Attend to breakdown maintenance involving electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to maintain plant uptime of ~98%.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC programs, HMI interfaces, relay logic, and control circuits.
- Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance as per defined schedules, ensuring 100% PM compliance.
- Support equipment uptime, downtime analysis, and root cause identification using Why-Why analysis.
- Assist in factory automation improvements and machine programming to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)
- Achieve zero safety incidents by strictly following Cummins HSE standards and procedures.
- Apply Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) practices, conduct risk assessments, and comply with work permit systems.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard immediately.
- Promote an interdependent safety culture by looking out for colleagues and correcting hazards within control.
- Recognize environmental impacts of work and minimize negative effects through responsible practices.
- Participate actively in HSE training programs.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Follow all process documentation, drawings, manuals, and quality procedures.
- Perform supervised work using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagrams and schematics.
- Conduct quality inspections and raise issues to reduce cost, quality, and safety risks.
- Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system and TPM activities.
- Identify manufacturing constraints and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Administration
- Prepare and maintain daily, shift-wise, and maintenance reports.
- Maintain spare parts planning and inventory at minimum required levels.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and 5S in the work area.
Learning & Development (for Apprentice / Early Career)
- Attend required technical classes and complete mandatory on-the-job training hours.
- Learn and apply safe electrical work protocols in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Actively pursue self-development and skill enhancement aligned with business needs.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (For apprentice roles: High school diploma or equivalent, as per applicable regulations)
- This position may require licensing or authorization to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, PLCs, HMI, and control systems (experience may be waived for apprentice roles) .
- Understanding of PLC and relay logic systems, with ability to read ladder diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
