Talladega Superspeedway was created as a palace of speed in 1969 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., who coined it “the Greatest Race Track in the World.”  At a mammoth 2.66-miles with 33 degrees of banking in the turns, it is NASCAR’s Most Competitive venue. The “Fun” track prides itself on being family friendly, especially with the introduction of the Talladega Garage Experience in 2019 where guests are immersed into motorsports like never before. The host of two major NASCAR weekends a year, the iconic ribbon of asphalt is easy accessible off I-20, located between Birmingham, AL, and Atlanta, GA.

Talladega Superspeedway seeks a talented professional to join Facility Operations Team in the position of General Landscape Maintenance based in Talladega, Alabama. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs landscape work including mowing, edging, weed eating and trimming
  • Seasonal tasks such as cleaning up landscape beds or seeding and planting
  • Operates and maintains blowers, mowers, weed eaters, tractors, bush hoggs, chain saws and various tractor attachments
  • Trimming of trees, hedges and shrubs
  • Removing unwanted, dead or damaged trees
  • Uses hand and power tools for various maintenance repairs
  • Apply fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide
  • Maintains the overall condition of the building and grounds
  • Perform routine plumbing repairs such as repairs on irrigation, fixing water leaks and leaking faucets
  • Experience with trailers, loading/unloading, pulling and positioning
  • Ability to maintain outdoor areas in a neat and orderly manner
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Work with contractors on various landscape projects
  • Basic computer skills are necessary
  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties
  • Provides general housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean facility
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Alabama driver’s license with good driving record.
