Position Summary
The manager of Consumer and Shopper Insights is responsible for serving as the objective voice of the consumer, shopper and the market, delivering insights that shape internal and external growth strategies. The manager will help develop and execute research plans to guide strategic initiatives, brand development and new product development.
Ownership
- Serve as a strategic thought partner, delivering synthesized insights across diverse data sources (custom research, syndicated data, secondary, etc.) that reveal growth opportunities to guide brand and channel strategy
- Support learning plan development, proactively identifying knowledge gaps and translating business questions to learning opportunities needed to fuel growth
- Develop deep understanding of the consumer and the category to guide new product development and marketing strategy
- Partner with category management and sales to support insights-led sales stories
- Execute consumer and shopper research, overseeing project activities end to end from vendor selection to report delivery
- Synthesize and report findings and recommendations through holistic and compelling communications that tell a story
- Design and facilitate working sessions with key stakeholders to drive insights to action
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years insights & analytics experience (ideally consumer/brand insights)
- Client-side work in consumer goods preferred
- High data aptitude with proficiency in POS and Panel data to support brand and category assessments
- Well versed in various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to understand the consumer, shopper, category and retail landscape
- Proven ability to identify the optimal learning approach to deliver on business needs, designing and deploying research end to end
- Strong analytic ability to mine complex, diverse data sets and connect the dots to identify key insights
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence across levels of leadership
