DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Field Sales Account Executive – Senior CPG to join our team specializing in Sales for our Business Development Department in Kitwe, Zambia.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Drive Business Growth : By proactively identifying and developing new opportunities, you’ll expand the customer base and increase revenue within your assigned territory or market segment.
- Build Strategic Relationships : Your ability to establish and strengthen customer relationships will help uncover their needs, business models, and buying processes—positioning Cummins as a trusted partner.
- Deliver Tailored Solutions : Using insights from customer priorities, you’ll present Cummins solutions that clearly demonstrate value and competitive advantage, leading to stronger customer buy-in.
- Achieve and Exceed Sales Targets : Through disciplined execution of account plans and consistent use of the Cummins Sales Process, you’ll meet or surpass sales goals while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Provide Market Intelligence : By bringing emerging customer and market needs to leadership, you’ll influence product and service strategies that keep Cummins ahead of the competition.
- Ensure Financial Health:Your role in negotiating terms, assisting with collections, and maintaining acceptable levels of past-due accounts will protect profitability and cash flow.
- Mentor and Lead:Offering guidance to less experienced account executives will strengthen team capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Enhance Operational Efficiency:Collaborating with internal stakeholders to balance inventory, service, and delivery expectations will ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong Prospecting and Research Skills:Ability to identify, research, and prioritize potential customers using market data and CRM tools. Proactive approach to building a healthy sales pipeline.
- Relationship-Building and Communication:Excellent interpersonal skills to establish trust and understand customer needs, business models, and buying processes. Ability to maintain long-term relationships for repeat business.
- Sales Process and Negotiation Expertise:Deep understanding of the Cummins Sales Process and tools (CRM, forecasting, pipeline management). Skilled in negotiating terms within company guidelines and closing deals effectively.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking:Ability to analyze customer data, forecast consumption patterns, and adjust strategies based on pipeline health. Use insights to create tailored account plans and demonstrate the value proposition.
- Results Orientation and Customer Focus:Drive to meet or exceed sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsiveness to customer concerns and commitment to delivering solutions that add value.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Electrical/Power Engineering.
- Traceable work experience in Genset.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
