Job Description

We have an opportunity for an Operations Project Manager to join AbbVie Westport on a 12 month Fixed term contract.

Purpose:

  • The Operations Project Manager at Abbvie Westport is responsible for leading cross functional project initiatives within the Biologics Business Unit to ensure that effective improvements are put in place to improve the overall performance of the Business Unit through ensuring that cost, compliance (FDA, HPRA, EPA), Safety and customer requirements are met. The role will also provide support to the production management team in achieving overall business goals and objectives for the business unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Manufacturing departments to a level where all members are working

towards common goals as set out by the BU leader.

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams during projects through effective communication and by delivering clear actions plans for team members
  • Support the relevant departments in the implementation of process improvements

for the Business Unit

  • Develop action plans for non-conforming KPI's
  • Identify action plans to eliminate re occurring issues within the Business Unit.
  • Identify and lead process improvements initiatives within the Business Unit.
  • Develop training modules in conjunction with the business unit Managers.
  • Identify areas to continuously enhance the performance of the business Unit.
  • Lead process improvement projects to enhance the overall performance of the

Business Unit and manage to closure

    • Business Unit related projects to ensure compliance with aseptic/safety regulations
    • Process Improvements Projects that support efficiency, Safety and Quality.
    • Complex NCRs which require a cross - functional investigation approach.
    • Re-occurring issues.
  • Co-ordinate the completion of process improvements initiatives in conjunction

with the Business Units Managers


Qualifications

  • 3rd level degree in science or pharmaceutical discipline
  • Strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedure
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills essential for working across multi-functional teams
