DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the Supply Planning Coordinator – Level II determines material quantities and order dates required to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. The role supports effective supply execution by initiating and expediting purchase or production orders, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and ensuring material availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Reports all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
- Complies with all Cummins HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Actively participates in required HSE training and initiatives.
Quality
- Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
- Performs quality checks on material planning master data (e.g., lead times, order quantities) to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
- Works with Quality teams to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.
Delivery & Supply Planning
- Initiates purchase orders and work orders to support demand plans.
- Participates in allocation calls with Sourcing Managers, suppliers, and Cummins entities to understand constraints and impacts.
- Works with suppliers to reduce lead times and order quantities while balancing supply and demand.
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Planners to reposition excess inventory to locations with supporting demand.
- Provides accurate and timely updates on inventory availability and backorder recovery plans.
- Manages part change requests and ramp-up/ramp-down activities to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Reconciles order boards for critical suppliers, critical parts, and past-due orders on a routine basis.
- Supports supplier improvement initiatives to enhance performance metrics.
- Documents, communicates, and follows up on action items impacting plan execution.
- Takes ownership and accountability for supplier schedules supporting end-customer needs.

- Completes training and personal development aligned with business requirements and career goals.
- Participates in improvement projects related to quality, safety, process efficiency, and material flow.

- This role requires working during US business hours (5 PM – 2 AM IST).
- Night shift allowance and transportation facilities are provided.
- Candidates must be willing and able to operate independently and as part of a global team.
Work Schedule: Night Shift (5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST)
Shift Benefits: Night Shift Allowance; Pickup and Drop facilities within PMC & PCMC jurisdiction

- Plan for Every Part (PFEP) – Applies PFEP principles across end-to-end supply chain planning and execution.
- Master Supply Scheduling – Supports alignment of procurement, production, and replenishment planning with manufacturing capabilities.
- Materials KPI Management – Interprets KPIs to assess performance gaps, understand customer impact, and drive improvements.

Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in Supply Planning and/or Material Planning.
- Experience handling external suppliers is required.
- Intermediate level knowledge gained through training or on-the-job experience.
Technical Skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with materials planning systems and supply chain processes is preferred.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E.) or MBA in Operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent secondary education is required at a minimum, as per applicable regulations.
