Location: Optum Primary Care of Gahanna: 680 Buckles Court North, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230 Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; No evenings, weekends, or holidays!Specialty: Primary Care Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
- Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKG’s
- Administer injections and collect specimens
- Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
- Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures
- Graduated from an accredited MA program or 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or you must be willing to attain that certification within 9 months of start date
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA)
- CPR certification
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant
- Experience with electronic medical records software
- Experience performing medical back-office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
- Experience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals
