To be the global reference for short circuit related aspects from an operational and manufacturing perspective. To work as a key contributor within the global operations, power transformers, team as a subject matter expert engineer, supporting the various multi-disciplinary, global projects across the Hitachi Energy transformers portfolio.
The role is an integral part of the global operations, power transformers, team. The position requires first and foremost an in-depth knowledge of short circuit calculation, manufacturing and testing aspects associated with transformers of all types. The role also requires interaction with global Engineering, manufacturing, quality and research functions on dedicated business critical projects, including training, prototyping and new concept validation with the updating or creation of dedicated process standard documents.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support of global short circuit design, manufacture and test projects.
Technical competence for operational support of diverse global projects.
Implement best practices and leverage technology to improve design for manufacturability.
Auditing of operational compliance – transformer factories.
Review and updating of the relevant production standards.
Interaction with global Engineering and R&D teams.
Support for transformer defect investigations including demonstrable root cause analysis experience.
Monthly reporting on related global project progress.
Qualifications:
Experience in a global manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to MTS, MTO, and ETO production models
Proven experience in managing global projects, effective technology transfer with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
A working knowledge of both AC and DC transformer manufacturing concepts.
Proactive approach to global solutions with cross functional teams.
Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and operations.
Familiarity with change management principles and the ability to implement process improvements effectively.
A strong commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering solutions that enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
Willingness to travel as needed to support roll outs and training, meet with unit teams and functions, including participation in meetings and events.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred
Minimum of +10 years of experience in transformer design, manufacturing and HV test.
Proven experience in managing and implementing global projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools and business transformation.
Understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements in a global context.
Complex multi-disciplinary project management with proven global operational experience.
