We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in Wealth Management Operations with the Estate & Inheritor Client Services team at Morgan Stanley.  Our team is dedicated to assisting clients and our branch partners with the inheritance process. The Specialist's role involves managing the collection of required documentation, asset transitions for clients, serving as a Subject Matter Expert on inheritance requirements and processes, and providing support to Wealth Management Clients, Financial Advisors, Client Service Associates, and Branch Management.

 

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo. This is an Associate level position within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team

• Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements

• Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output

• Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution

• Deliver one-on-one client support throughout the inheritance process

• Proactively communicate with clients and beneficiaries via phone and email

• Set client expectations in line with internal Service Level Agreements

• Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions

• Research and resolve client problems accurately and timely

•  Stay current with SEC/FINRA, Compliance, and Firm guidelines to ensure risk mitigation

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision

• Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests

• Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values

• College degree, 3-4 years of financial services experience, or knowledge of estates, trusts, and retirement plans. (Preferred)

• Essential skills are effective communication, strong interpersonal and client service abilities, organizational prowess, problem-solving capabilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Morgan Stanley systems.

• The ideal candidate is self-motivated and excels in a high-activity team environment.

• At least 2 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
