Role Summary
Assists Corporate Tax team with preparing the organization’s state and local income tax returns and extensions, calculating estimated income tax payments, preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions, extensions, and gathering information for corporate income tax examinations. The accountant will receive support and coaching from our experienced leadership team and will have opportunities to continuously develop professional skills and expand on tax knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assists Corporate Tax with preparing the organization’s state and local income tax compliance:
- Prepares the organization’s state and local income tax returns, including state apportionments, estimated payments, and extensions by gathering and analyzing financial accounting information, and preparing taxable income calculations.
- Provides information to an outside accounting firm for tax return preparation and reviews their work products.
- Prepares the organization’s quarterly and annual income tax provisions .
- Researches technical issues and tax planning initiatives as well as gathers income tax information as necessary for tax examinations.
- Effectively partners with other financial and functional areas to gather information for the timely and accurate preparation of required filings.
- Assists with various special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration AND 2+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong state and local income tax compliance and tax accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to learn
- Willingness to take ownership of projects
- Enjoys collaborating in a team environment
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Experience with Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud (tax provision system) and Oracle Cloud Financials (ERP system) a plus
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.
Base salary ranges:
$83,000.00 - $141,000.00 for the location of: California, New York$72,500.00 - $124,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$66,000.00 - $113,500.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
