We are looking for an experienced Diesel technician to join our team in Winnipeg in a field service position.
Proven experience in engine diagnostics, engine rebuilds, and emissions systems is required, along with working knowledge of chassis diagnostics and repairs.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Red seal certification (Heavy duty equipment or truck and transport) is required
- Locally valid driving permit is required
- Clean driver’s abstract required
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Basic level field service work experience
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience
- Experience with emissions and aftertreatment systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engine systems
- Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding and experience with diesel engines
- Class 1A or 3 driver’s licenses, would be an asset
- Experience in PMs on generator systems
- Electrical interest is a great asset.
- Power generation and standby generator experience is an asset
About the role:
- Working hours are 7h30am to 4h00pm Monday-Friday.
- Cummins offers a 5000$ sign on bonus for this position
- Traveling to be expected
