We are looking for a Staff Engineer to provide senior technical leadership supporting our manufacturing operations in Skawina. This role is a key technical escalation point for complex manufacturing issues and will drive sustaining engineering activities focused on process performance, product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure stable, capable, and compliant manufacturing processes while leading projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role offers the opportunity to lead technically, influence manufacturing strategy, and deliver measurable impact in a high-performing operations environment.

What will you do?

As a Staff Engineer in Sustaining Engineering, you will:

  • Provide technical and operational support to manufacturing operations to ensure stable and capable production performance

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, and cost

  • Ensure product and process quality meet defined specifications and regulatory requirements

  • Drive structured problem solving and root cause investigations for manufacturing issues

  • Own and execute NC/CAPA activities within your area of responsibility, including effectiveness verification

  • Lead or support development and maintenance of: PFMEA, Control Plans, process documentation and standard work

  • Conduct and/or support process monitoring and statistical studies including SPC and MSA for new or modified processes

  • Support sustaining-related qualification/validation and documentation requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation, improve yield, and eliminate waste

  • Support integration and sustainment of manufacturing processes with MES / SAP systems, ensuring traceability and data integrity

  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and development support to Engineers, Technicians, and Operators

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers/partners to troubleshoot and implement solutions

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a related technical role

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and improving manufacturing processes in a regulated environment

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of quality systems and risk tools including: NC/CAPA, PFMEA, Control Plans

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • Experience with analytical tools such as SPC, MSA, DoE

  • Knowledge of process validation principles and documentation requirements

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one of the following processes: automated surface finishing (linishing / polishing) / plasma coating

  • Experience in robot programming (Fanuc / Kuka / ABB) and vision systems

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead complex technical initiatives

  • Experience supporting manufacturing systems such as MES / SAP

  • Interest in implementing new technologies and automation solutions
