We are looking for a talented Ergonomics Technician to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Deliver technical support to production and site teams while helping execute and sustain Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Support ergonomic hazard reduction and compliance by learning and applying internal ergonomic assessment tools and processes.
  • Conduct ergonomic risk assessments and contribute to improvement designs, methods, and programs that enhance workplace safety.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams and incident investigations to strengthen ergonomic practices and corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively between shop‑floor personnel and management to raise awareness of ergonomic issues and promote hazard control.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping, collect ergonomic and incident data, and uphold corporate data protection and retention standards.
  • Assist in maintaining site ergonomic policies and procedures while supporting HSE projects and contributing to employee ergonomics training.
  • Follow standard work and quality procedures, identify non‑conforming material, and actively support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and process efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Optimize work processes by applying efficient, standardized methods and driving continuous improvement across tasks and workflows.
  • Apply ergonomic fundamentals using company standards, guidelines, and tools to identify risks and implement effective controls that reduce employee strain.
  • Model proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying hazards, reporting concerns, and participating in actions that strengthen an interdependent, injury‑free culture.
  • Conduct thorough HSE incident investigations with evidence-based root cause analysis to enable effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Leverage manufacturing knowledge to implement process, equipment, and application changes that improve safety, quality, and operational performance.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Certificate, College, university, equivalent degree in mechanics, engineering or health and safety preferred.
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

  • One to two years of experience working in a plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience serving as a safety point leader or contributing to practical HSE activities.
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience assessing and addressing HSE risk is preferred but not essential.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving capabilities.

Compensation (for United States)

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
