We are looking for a talented School to Work - Supply Chain Planning - Business Intelligence student to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI.
We are looking for a motivated Supply Chain Business Intelligence School To Work individual to support our operations, analytics, and reporting efforts. This role is ideal for a sophomore or junior pursuing Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
You will work closely with a Sr. Supply Chain BI Analyst to create work instructions, document processes, build SQL queries, develop Qlik dashboards, and assist with various analytical and continuous improvement initiatives.
This School To Work position offers hands-on experience with real-world data, BI tools, and cross-functional collaboration—ideal for students interested in combining supply chain knowledge with technical and analytical skills.
In This Role, You Will Make an Impact By:
Business Intelligence & Data Support
- Assisting in development, enhancement, and maintenance of Qlik and/or PowerBI dashboards for supply chain metrics.
- Writing and modifying SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze data from enterprise systems (ex. Oracle/ASCP).
- Performing data validation, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting data quality improvements within dashboards and reports.
Process Documentation & Standard Work
- Creating and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process maps.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by documenting current-state and future-state process flows.
- Helping the team develop repeatable, auditable documentation to improve efficiency and support onboarding.
Operational & Ad Hoc Support
- Supporting the team with ad hoc analysis, reporting requests, and metric development.
- Assisting with preparation of recurring reports and scorecards used by Supply Chain team members.
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners (Planning, Operations, Sales, Purchasing) on data and reporting needs.

- Basic SQL knowledge or experience working with databases.
- Familiarity with business intelligence or visualization tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience creating documentation, work instructions, or process flows (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- Interest in supply chain operations, forecasting, or manufacturing analytics.
- Prior internship/co‑op experience in a supply chain, operations, or analytics environment.
Education Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in:
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Analytics
- Information Systems
- Industrial Engineering
- Computer Science Or related field
Sophomore or Junior standing strongly preferred.
