What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Strats in New York, New York to develop and maintain data feeds for the Commodities Quantitative Strategies group. Provide strategic enhancements to the business’ proprietary fundamentals platform. Perform data analysis for the trading desks. Collaborate with traders and originators to provide value-adding analyses of current technology programs.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field of study.

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, Quantitative Analytics, Quantitative Developer, or a related role.

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Python;
  • SQL;
  • C++;
  • Source control;
  • Financial products; and
  • Liaising with infrastructure support teams to resolve production issues.

-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills:

  • Machine learning;
  • Applied statistical analysis;
  • Mathematical modelling;
  • Analyzing large data sets and data visualization;
  • Web platform development for fundamental data analysis;
  • Global commodities markets;
  • Q/KDB;
  • Development in ReactJS;
  • Development of risk reports;
  • Commodity market fundamentals;
  • Commodity data sources, vendors and publication methodologies, including Genscape, Energy Information Administration (EIA), CWG, Stormvista, WSI, YesEnergy, and EnergyGPS;
  • Diagnosing and solving issues with Kerberos authenticated connectivity; and
  • Key/secret store technology.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
