Job Details

The Global Mobile Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the firm's end to end mobile procurement strategy, carrier management, and vendor governance across all regions. This role ensures consistent global standards, cost optimization, compliance with firm policies, and seamless mobile service delivery to employees worldwide. The Lead manages a regional procurement team, and partners closely with other Workplace Technology & Support Services teams as well as, Sourcing, Legal, Managed Mobility Services (MMS) providers, and business units to deliver a resilient, transparent, and scalable mobile procurement service.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Vendor & Carrier Leadership

  • Manage relationships with 40+ global mobile carriers, including major partners such as Verizon, AT&T, Vodafone, and regional providers.

  • Co-lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing conversations in partnership with Contract Management (CME), Sourcing and Legal teams.

  • Serve as the primary global liaison between mobile carriers and the firm's Managed Mobile Services (MMS) provider.

  • Participate in global vendor governance, performance management, escalations, and executive reporting.

Global Procurement Strategy & Operations

  • Oversee global ordering, inventory tracking, logistics, and lifecycle management of smartphones, tablets, and mobility accessories.

  • Coordinating with regional procurement leads to ensure consistent application of global standards and alignment of device catalogs and carrier offerings.

  • Provide senior oversight of CorpMobile, MMS platforms, and enterprise data integrity.

  • Serve as a Senior escalation point for senior management and key stakeholders of the firm.

Financial Governance & Cost Optimization

  • Partner with CME, MMS and Carrier teams to ensure accurate billing, proper allocation, remediation of discrepancies, and timely invoice processing.

  • Monitor mobile expense trends and implement global cost savings initiatives, including rate plan optimization and vendor-driven recommendations.

Compliance, Risk & Policy Enforcement

  • Enforce firm policies regarding corporate mobile device procurement and hardware asset management.

  • Serve as senior point of accountability for adherence to legal, privacy, and regulatory requirements across global procurement and vendor activities.

  • Support audits, operational risk reviews, and governance reporting.

Internal Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with internal Technology, Workplace Support, Business Units, and executive stakeholders on mobile strategy, escalations, and large initiatives.

  • Provide centralized communication to regional teams on policy changes, device program updates, carrier escalations, or BU specific needs.

  • Represent Mobile Procurement in global operational, financial, and strategic forums.

Strategic Planning & Transformation

  • Drive global standardization of mobile procurement workflows, reducing operational risk and improving user experience.

  • Lead transformation initiatives related to asset lifecycle automation, global catalog rationalization, and MMS optimization.

  • Evaluate and implement enhancements to ordering portals, data integrity processes, and platform integrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technology Management, or related field.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in procurement, telecom management, vendor management, or related domains.

  • Experience negotiating and managing large scale carrier or telecom vendor relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed teams and manage strategic programs.

  • Strong executive communication, financial acumen, and stakeholder leadership.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $160,000.00 and $200,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
