We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environmental Technician – Level Il to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Identify and Address Gaps : You'll determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local policies, ensuring compliance and improvement.
- Promote HSE Culture : By building an understanding of HSE culture, you'll integrate it into daily processes, fostering a safer work environment.
- Ensure Confidentiality : Maintaining confidentiality and proper recordkeeping will protect sensitive information and comply with data protection standards.
- Immediate Hazard Reporting : You'll stop work and report any major injury hazards immediately, preventing potential incidents.
- Incident Reporting and Guidance : Acting as an HSE resource, you'll guide the site on reporting processes and support incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Support Corrective Actions : You'll assist in the implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions, enhancing overall safety.
- Effective Communication : By communicating effectively, you'll create HSE awareness and support environmental management activities.
- Participate in Inspections and Audits : Your active participation in HSE inspections, audits, and incident investigations will help identify trends and improve safety measures.

Education:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
College, University or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, or Sustainability preferred.
Experience:
Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities:
Support HSE Programs like: routine HSE audits, chemical management, spill prevention, waste management, wastewater treatment
Respond to HSE emergencies as part of the plant emergency organization
Support Business Leaders to complete incident investigations and gemba walks.
Serve as the HSE point of contact for all HSE-related topics.
Conduct weekly and monthly inspections indoors and outdoors year-round.
Complete activities requiring light-medium physical activity (lift, push, walk, climb stairs)
Conduct preventive maintenance activities at the wastewater treatment plant: housekeeping, leak repair, instrument calibration, hydroponic tank maintenance, etc.
Skill, Education, or experience
Use of Microsoft programs to prepare reports and presentations.
Communicate effectively at different levels with different internal and external stakeholders.
Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
Desired College degree: mechanical, electrical, or environmental.
