Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our Transportation Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing applications for the trucking and logistics industry, with expertise in integrating Transportation Management System (TMS) software.

You Will:

• Develop web-based applications and APIs that interface with TMS software
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Transportation Management staff to understand and implement business requirements
• Design, code, test, and debug software applications
• Integrate third-party APIs, particularly those from TMS providers like Samsara and Mercury Gate
• Maintain and improve existing software systems
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in transportation management
• Develop and maintain EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integrations
• Implement route optimization and load planning algorithms

You Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
• Proficiency in C# and Python programming languages
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration
• Knowledge of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
• Understanding of software development life cycle and Agile methodologies
• Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) implementation
• Familiarity with GPS and telematics integration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Samsara, Mercury Gate, or other TMS API integrations
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular)
• Knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Mobile app development experience (iOS and/or Android)
• Understanding of IoT devices and their integration in fleet management
• Knowledge of optimization algorithms for route planning and load optimization

Location:

Omaha, NE, Dallas-FortWorth, TX, Austin, TX, Louisville, KY, Memphis, TN, or Atlanta, GA preferred, but other locations may be a potential.
