We’re seeking someone to join our FRPPE Tech team as a SDET specialist, in Operations Technology to play a key role in helping transform how Morgan Stanley operates

What you’ll do in the role:

This position is for QA Test Automation developer for Morgan Stanley's Tax Tech Group and performs a variety of technical architecture and leadership roles mainly in the Operations Technology (OT) Tax Technology area and will be responsible for working with multiple business areas/IT groups and leading major application development projects. The candidate will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from system definition to deployment of Test Automation Framework.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Ownership of implementation, design, and maintenance of Test Automation Framework & components.

  • Managing QA function & resources.

  • Ensure release deliverables such as new & existing components, enhancements, bug fixes, etc,. are functionally tested and performant.

  • Participation in Design and code reviews

  • Knowledge sharing with our global team.

  • Partner with vendors to ensure high quality delivery

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • At 6 years of hands-on with Automation test framework development utilizing the BDD (Cucumber / JBehave) framework using Advanced Java.

  • Strong experience in Testing Process including requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, setting up the testing environment/data, test execution, defect reporting, retesting fixes, regression testing, and test cycle closure.

  • Should hold experience in different testing techniques such as Functional, Regression, SIT, UAT, Smoke, sanity, etc.

  • Good knowledge in Automation frameworks building from scratch, Frameworks such as BDD/Test-Driven/Keyword/ Hybrid, etc,.

  • Should hold working experience on Automation tools such as: TDD, BDD (Cucumber / JBehave), UI Automation (Selenium/Cypress/Playwright/UIPath), Test Reporting tools, Web-Services & API Automation (Karate, Postman, Rest Assured)

  • Java Advanced/Python, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, SQL, DB2, MongoDB, MQ/Kafka.

  • Experience in working/automation of Realtime messaging channels like Kafka/MQ.

  • Good understanding of Object Oriented programming, Efficient in-memory data handling, large data processing, Test Reporting, Multithreading and data structure algorithms.

  • Experience with MVC patterned applications using Spring

  • Experience with writing SQL including stored procedures

  • Experience with Unix Shell and Python Scripting

  • Proficient in continuous integration tools such as: Jenkins, TeamCity

  • Proficient in WebServices, XML, REST, SOAP, JSON

  • Familiarity with revision control systems, Git /CVS/SVN

  • Understanding of the SDLC, SCM, Agile and scrum methodologies

  • Experience in Agile & DevOps development practices

  • Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments

  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions

  • Agile development practice

  • Provide overall project management, local leadership and be a mentor to the staff

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent collaboration and team skills.

  • At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for these role

  • Required Bachelors degree
