We are seeking an Operational Risk Governance Analyst to join our team in the Firm Risk Management Division.
In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyse and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

The role will reside within the Operational Risk Coordinator (ORC) team that sits in Firm Risk Management’s (FRM) Chief Operating Office function. ORC provides global risk governance and oversight of operational risk framework elements for FRM, such as business continuity planning and the validation of Key Controls. ORC is critical to ensuring the effectiveness of FRM’s operational risk management approach by maintaining robust controls, safeguarding business continuity, and proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn about risk management with a focus on operational risk and its business impact and is a natural communicator who possesses attention to detail. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, providing exposure to all areas within FRM.
What you’ll do in the role
- Proactively engages stakeholders from the Non-Financial Risk team across relevant operational risk areas to ensure clear understanding of operational risk requirements
- Effectively communicate operational risk expectations to FRM and provide quarterly updates to report on FRM’s progress and compliance with operational risk requirements, including across the below topics
- Business Continuity Planning: Provide centralized oversight and management of FRM’s Business Continuity processes across its global offices, ensuring alignment with firm-wide standards and deadlines
- Key Control Validation: Perform annual validation of Key Controls, confirming their design and effectiveness in mitigating operational risks
- Separation of Duties Certification: Coordinate the Separation of Duties process to help reduce the risk of fraud and prevent high-risk system access combinations
- Issues Management: Help update and maintain the Firm Risk Management Issues Management Framework, while developing expertise to train and guide colleagues on the procedures
What you’ll bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Comfort communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
- Experience performing operational risk management assessments and controls reviews
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to provide information in comprehensible formats
- Proactive in driving projects and identifying solutions
- Inquisitive with a focus on information sharing
- Effective at balancing multiple projects and delivering under tight deadlines
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and MS Excel, with an ability to analyze large data sets, distil conclusions and create dashboards
- Ability to automate using VBA macros, Power BI is a plus
