We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity as a Working Student (m/f/d) - Electromagnetics AI/ML Surrogate Modeling to join our team.

Join the Electromagnetics 3DEXPERIENCE Team and become part of a highly specialized group providing high-end numerical simulation capabilities for low- and high-frequency electromagnetic applications. This internship offers deep technical exposure to machine learning, scientific computing, and post-processing of simulation data to support domain experts worldwide.

Role Description & Responsibilities

• You will prepare and preprocess simulation datasets generated by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform or CST Studio Suite software

• You will train and evaluate machine learning surrogate models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

• You will run experiments, track results, and perform systematic analyses of model performance

• You will post-process and visualize ML predictions, including scalar time wave signals and field comparison plots versus numerical results

• You will support the validation of physical plausibility and consistency of ML model outputs

• You will collaborate with domain experts and team members to interpret model predictions and improve simulation workflows

Qualifications

• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field

• You have basic familiarity or strong interest in electromagnetics, physics-based simulations, or scientific computing 

• You have strong programming skills in Python and practical experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)

• You have basic knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and applied ML concepts

• You are interested in data analysis, visualization, and post-processing of scientific data

• You have good oral and written communication skills in English, and you work well in collaborative, cross-functional teams
