We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity as a Working Student (m/f/d) - Electromagnetics AI/ML Surrogate Modeling to join our team.
Join the Electromagnetics 3DEXPERIENCE Team and become part of a highly specialized group providing high-end numerical simulation capabilities for low- and high-frequency electromagnetic applications. This internship offers deep technical exposure to machine learning, scientific computing, and post-processing of simulation data to support domain experts worldwide.
Role Description & Responsibilities
You will prepare and preprocess simulation datasets generated by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform or CST Studio Suite software
You will train and evaluate machine learning surrogate models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
You will run experiments, track results, and perform systematic analyses of model performance
You will post-process and visualize ML predictions, including scalar time wave signals and field comparison plots versus numerical results
You will support the validation of physical plausibility and consistency of ML model outputs
You will collaborate with domain experts and team members to interpret model predictions and improve simulation workflows
Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
You have basic familiarity or strong interest in electromagnetics, physics-based simulations, or scientific computing
You have strong programming skills in Python and practical experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
You have basic knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and applied ML concepts
You are interested in data analysis, visualization, and post-processing of scientific data
You have good oral and written communication skills in English, and you work well in collaborative, cross-functional teams
