Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Shop Operations Team Manager to join our engine plant in Jamestown, NY. In this role, you will lead a team of production employees while creating a positive, supportive, and accountable work environment. You will ensure daily production goals are met by effectively allocating resources, overseeing workflow, and maintaining consistent communication across all levels of the organization. A key part of this position involves managing timekeeping for direct reports to ensure accurate recording of hours and the fair application of attendance policies. You will provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance management, including the appropriate use of progressive discipline when necessary. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to develop staff, build productive manager–subordinate relationships, and apply company policies with fairness and consistency. This role also requires the ability to lead project groups from initiation through completion and to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and close Corrective Action Responses (CARs). Supervisory experience is preferred, as is a proven ability to guide teams through daily operations with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the production team, ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to operational standards.
  • Lead Team Members: Provide clear direction, set expectations, and clarify responsibilities to help team members achieve goals effectively.
  • Ensure Production Targets: Monitor progress and drive performance to consistently meet or exceed production objectives.
  • Promote Safety and Quality: Collaborate across functions to identify and implement improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Serve as Project Lead: Take ownership of projects and work assignments, coordinating efforts to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Provide Guidance and Feedback: Support team members through constructive feedback and actionable insights to enhance performance.
  • Coach and Mentor: Foster professional growth by mentoring team members and developing their skills for long-term success.
  • Maintain Housekeeping Standards: Ensure a clean, organized, and compliant work environment that supports operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
