We are looking for a talented Process Quality Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in QUALITY for CUMMINS in San Luis Potosí, SLP. (100% On site role)
Job Summary:
The Process Quality Engineer - Senior - creates value for their assigned site by leading continuous improvement projects towards defect-free processes that satisfy customer needs and achieve business results.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Responsible for applicable systems related to plant customer issues such as corrective requests.
- Leads containment activities.
- Ensures products and processes meet initial and long-term quality standards (Examples: IATF, customer specific requirements, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Product Parts Approval Process (PPAP) documentation submittal etc.).
- Leads and /or supports change management activities for current product and Value Package Introduction (VPI) by verifying products and processes to ensure key measures are met and analyzing data for decision support.
- Supports and / or leads quality audits.
- Serves as a Quality technical resource to other functional areas.
- Coaches and mentors quality practices with less experienced team members.
- Supervise, promote and support talent development team members (quality process technicians and process quality auditors) fostering technical growth and accountability.
- Leads the prioritization of continuous improvement with cross functional key business partners by utilizing industry proven methodology (Example: lean manufacturing, 7 step problem solving, Intelligent Quality Tools and Methods (IQTM), etc.).
- Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) core tools application
- Leads and/or supports Safe Launch initiatives through VPI.
- GD&T Applies for drawings interpretation
- Machine and CNC support
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs): PPM’S (Defects per Million), Scrap vs Sales
Qualifications
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer preferred as Process Quality Engineer
- Experience in Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP)
- Knowledge of machining processes and CNC
- Background in process audits (system, process, product).
- Fluent in English (written, spoken, and reading) to effectively participate in meetings with stakeholders.
- Strong Problem Solving (7-steps, FTAs)
- Availability to travel nationally and internationally 10% of the time.
Preferred (Desirable):
- Experience in Automotive Industry
- Experience in drawings interpretation (GD&T )
