Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.


Primary Responsibilities

The role is based out of Mumbai and requires working with the EMEA Transaction Management Group during London hours in relation to Structured Products, ETP and RSP Governance. This role sits at the intersection of governance, controls, reporting, and business enablement, owning critical verification processes, producing senior management insights, driving automation, and partnering with Sales, Trading, Legal, Risk, Finance, COO and Operations. 

The role will require a fast-learning, dynamic, proactive and self-motivated person to assist the team in day-to-day activities. 

Responsibilities for this role would involve:

Governance & Control Framework 

•    Run weekly/monthly governance verification processes and report outcomes, including escalation of material issues.
•    Maintain and evolve the governance framework: controls, evidence, documentation standards, and process discipline. 
•    Perform targeted quality checks / spot-checks on external activity and ensure exceptions are investigated and resolved.
•    Support initiatives including stakeholder analysis and preparation of materials/presentations for governance and senior forums.
•    Assist with post-trade matters and ad-hoc requests, including structured products/ETP trade reviews and governance-related exception handling.
•    Own centralization, maintenance and periodic refresh of RSP/ETP policies & procedures, ensuring consistent adoption and accessibility.
•    Coordinate and deliver DDQs, governance reviews and periodic assessments in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
•    Support regulatory/mandatory reporting obligations (where applicable), ensuring quality, traceability and sign-off.

Management Information (MI), Metrics & Executive Reporting

•    Build and own a high-quality metrics stack by linking multi-source datasets, ensuring integrity, reconciling breaks, and maintaining transaction-level and aggregated MI views.
•    Deliver regular and ad-hoc MI (packs, dashboards, commentary) highlighting trends, exceptions, and meaningful moves. 
•    Create monthly and quarterly reporting packs, partnering with multiple data owners and teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
•    Create crisp senior-ready material in PowerPoint , turning complex activity into clear insights, decisions, and action prompts.

Distributor Oversight, Onboarding & Governance Forums

•    Track and report distributor onboarding and periodic review metrics across regions, ensuring consistency in governance material. 
•    Prepare packs for governance forums/meetings across regions with comparable metrics, exceptions, and action tracking.

Budget & Repository Management 
•    Manage invoice processing and cost tracking (including reconciliation, approvals support, and reporting) 
•    Support annual budget planning and tracking related to governance operations and documentation/regulatory deliverables. 
•    Maintain and continuously improve central repositories and governance artifacts (folders, trackers, packs, procedures, templates), ensuring version control and fast retrieval for reviews.
•    Drive ongoing upkeep of procedures / playbooks and operational documentation, including periodic refresh and stakeholder alignment to ensure processes remain current and scalable.

Automation, Process Optimization & Strategic Projects
•    Drive automation and efficiency initiatives (Excel/VBA/Python preferred), improving accuracy, turnaround time, and scalability. 
•    Partner with internal and external stakeholders and third parties to deliver enhancements and change.


Skills required (essential)

•    MBA / CA  with 5 - 6 years of experience.
•    Experience in Derivatives/ Structured Products and/or Exchange Traded Products (not ETF business though) and RSP Governance.
•    In-depth understanding of equity or other asset-linked structured notes, warrants, certificates, trade lifecycles, and product mechanics will be preferred.
•    Candidates must have worked in a fast-paced environment and be able to work to tight deadlines. 
•    Advance knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint skills is compulsory. VBA and Python preferred
•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships effectively 
•    Proficiency in English is a must, both verbal and written.  
•    Candidate should be organized, pro-active, ability to multi-task and work efficiently, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient.
