Axiom Configuration Specialist Software Engineer - Vice President - Software Engineering
We’re seeking someone to join our FRPPE team as an Axiom Configuration Specialist, in Finance Technology to architect and develop next-generation Axiom applications leveraging Controller View, UNIX, Data Modelling, SQL, Stored Procedure ETL / Data Engineering.
FINANCE Technology (FINTECH) provides innovative solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, general ledger, profit & loss calculations, securities bookkeeping, budgeting & forecasting, and tax filing. The group leverages a state-of-the-art multi-terabyte financial data warehouse as one of its main assets to service the Firm’s Finance division.

This is a Lead Software Engineer position at Vice President Level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:
The Senior Developer will lead a Regulatory Disclosures development team responsible for EMEA reporting solutions, with a strong emphasis on AxiomSL and XBRL‑based submissions. This senior role blends hands‑on technical ownership with leadership of a small team, driving delivery across a large and complex regulatory reporting portfolio.
Working closely with Finance stakeholders, project managers, and global technology teams, the Senior Developer will own the full lifecycle of delivery—from business/data analysis and technical design through implementation, testing, release management, and ongoing L3 support. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to guide a team in delivering scalable, accurate, and regulatory‑compliant reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Delivery
Lead, mentor, and manage a small development team delivering regulatory reporting capabilities across EMEA jurisdictions
Oversee planning and delivery of a significant Axiom-based reporting portfolio, ensuring high-quality and on-time execution
Act as the primary L3 escalation point for complex production issues, ensuring quick diagnosis and resolution
Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, automation, and development workflow
Technical Responsibilities
Perform detailed business and data analysis to investigate problems and design optimal solutions in partnership with Finance and reporting SMEs
Design, implement, test, and maintain Axiom EMEA reporting solutions, including data ingestion, rule logic, mappings, workflows, and templates
Ensure completeness and accuracy of XBRL-based disclosures and filing outputs
Conduct performance and scalability optimization to support enterprise-scale deployments of regulatory applications
Work closely with product management to define new features, contribute to specification development, and influence platform enhancements
Ensure quality across the delivery lifecycle through unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and structured release processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Finance, Data, Operations, and wider Technology teams to align business needs with technical solutions
Coordinate with architecture and platform teams to maintain adherence to global standards
Promote best practices across coding, testing, automation, and DevOps
What you’ll bring to the role:
Overall 10+ Years of career experience.
5+ years of Axiom ControllerView 9/10 experience, including data models and rule-building
4+ years of database development experience (SQL, data modelling, stored procedures)
1+ years of ETL programming / Data Engineering experience (e.g. Informatica)
Experience with Autosys job scheduler
Strong working knowledge of UNIX for scripting and operational support
At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
Technical Skills (Preferred)
Experience with DevOps tooling (CI/CD, version control, automation frameworks)
Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and distributed processing with Spark
Exposure to the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain
Functional Experience & Capabilities
Proven expertise delivering complex regulatory reporting solutions (e.g., EBA, PRA, BOE, BBK)
Understanding of EMEA regulatory requirements, especially FINREP/COREP and XBRL reporting
