We're seeking someone to join our FRPPE Technology team as a Senior Technical Business Analyst in FRPPE Cross ISG Programs team & be part of Project Cortex, a firmwide initiative focused on accelerating data quality improvements related to risk and finance reporting. The program spans over multiple years and aims to implement strategic processes and systems to enhance data cataloguing and controls across the firm.

The ISG Cross Divisional Programs Group (XPG) provides program management and delivery of large enterprise programs and initiatives across multiple technology teams, business units and Firm functions.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Senior Technical Business Analyst at Vice President level Position that analyzes business processes, identifies needs, and establishes requirements to enhance efficiency and productivity through a blend of business acumen and analytical skills

What you'll do in the role:

Project Cortex is as a Risk & Finance Data Quality Acceleration Program. Its primary goal is to improve the quality of critical risk and finance reports by focusing on data cataloguing and control requirements. This program involves collaboration across multiple divisions including Fixed Income, Equities, Operations, Wealth Management/Investment Management (WM/IM), Risk, and Finance.

This role demands a senior business analyst to be a key interface between business stakeholders, tech teams and data governance teams and capable of driving delivery of data cataloguing whilst ensuring comprehensive understanding of asset classes, trading, risk platforms, and front-to-back processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with system owners and ecosystem leads to ensure cataloguing adoption and drive delivery of in scope dataset cataloguing
  • Ensure datasets are correctly catalogued and classified in line with definition of done and work with relevant stakeholders to remediate  
  • Translate cataloguing requirements into clear actionable delivery plans in collaboration with technology leads
  • Acquire knowledge from various stakeholders across divisions to act as Engagement and Adoption SME
  • Maintain detailed plans, RAID logs, and status reports and communicate details to a variety of stakeholders
  • Produce and maintain reports, documentation and communication artefacts for meetings, working groups and steering committees.
  • Maintain Agile artefacts such as sprint boards, story maps and hygiene dashboards.
  • Ensure alignment with product and other data governance teams
  • Work with internal team members to analyze internal processes and procedures and develop solutions for optimized delivery
  • Identify and escalate  blockers and data gaps working with dev leads, tech leads and product owners to resolve
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and feed into maintenance of Agile artifacts – sprint/kanban boards, plans and dashboards
  • Act as liaison between cross functional business units; Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology and Data Governance

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 11+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in investment banking.
  • Extensive knowledge of front-to-back (F2B) trade flows and systems across asset classes, trade capture, risk, finance, and operations.
  • Experience with Risk & Finance data aggregation (preferred)
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into concise delivery outcomes

Project Leadership

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, cross-divisional programs involving senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Experience leading projects involving front office stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Previous experience working in an agile team (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), and liaising with a cross-divisional, cross-functional squad.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Flexible and comfortable working with unknowns in a complex technical and functional environment.

  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to influence and collaborate across team
