We are seeking an experienced Corporate Facilities Director – Americas, a high-impact leadership role responsible for the strategic and tactical management of a 31-million-square-foot portfolio across North and Latin America. Leading a diverse team of sub-regional directors, you will align facility operations with Global Integrated Services (GIS) and broader business objectives. This role is central to our regional transformation, overseeing footprint master planning, infrastructure investments, and the centralization of people, scope, and budgets across 350 sites.
This role offers an onsite with flexibility work environment, with a preferred location in Indiana; however, other locations near Cummins Americas facilities will be considered, and relocation support may be available. This senior Corporate Facilities leadership role oversees regional master planning, capital investments, and operational excellence across a broad facilities footprint. The Director will advance cross‑business efficiencies, champion continuous improvement, and ensure safe, sustainable, and cost‑effective facilities, while collaborating closely with business leaders, vendors, and stakeholders to enable long‑term growth and enterprise performance.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Strategic Portfolio Management: Lead master planning, infrastructure investment, and divestitures for 31M sq. ft. across the Americas, ensuring facilities strategy aligns with enterprise objectives and long-term business needs.
- Financial Stewardship: Provide disciplined capital governance, ensuring investments are financially sound, value-driven, and aligned with regional priorities. Direct oversight of an annual budget, including:
- OPEX: ~$70M (primarily Indiana, managed LATAM, and Fridley).
- CAPEX: ~$40M–$45M (Indiana, LATAM, and Fridley).
- CSSNA Oversight: Additional $30M–$40M (primarily CAPEX).
- Regional Centralization: Spearhead the transition of people, scope, and budget transfers to create a unified regional facilities model, improving consistency, efficiency, and governance across business units and sites.
- Operational Leadership: Manage tactical operations for 350 sites, including infrastructure investment and maintenance, supported by a diverse team of 114+ and key supplier partners.
- Executive Representation: Serve as the primary GIS representative for critical business initiatives, partnering with senior leaders to ensure facilities strategy directly supports enterprise performance and growth.
- Cost and Asset Optimization: Influence business units to improve space utilization, asset performance, and cost efficiency across a complex, multi-site facilities portfolio.
- Vendor, Utility, and Labor Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, utilities, and trade unions while driving sourcing strategies that enhance reliability, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement and Best Practices: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify and scale best practices, and promote shared learning across facilities, regions, and enterprise partners.
- Regional and Enterprise Collaboration: Partner with other Corporate Regional Facility Directors to align strategies, leverage synergies, and advance enterprise-wide facilities capabilities.
- Leadership and Talent Development: Recruit, coach, and develop Business Unit Facility Directors and teams, providing clear direction, effective delegation, and support aligned to organizational needs and individual development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage large, complex budgets, including $100M+ in combined OPEX and CAPEX across multiple regions and countries.
- Transformation and Change Leadership: Strong experience in organizational design, regional centralization, and leading change initiatives across diverse portfolios.
- Portfolio and Footprint Strategy: Expert knowledge of footprint optimization, site divestitures, and infrastructure investment planning.
- Geographic and Regulatory Expertise: Experience operating across North America and Latin America, including navigating varied regulatory and operational environments.
- Facilities Maintenance Strategy: Capability to develop and oversee maintenance programs using criticality analysis, predictive tools, prioritization, and business continuity planning.
- Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability: Demonstrated ability to lead and direct environmental stewardship and sustainability programs across a large facilities portfolio
- Operational and Technical Breadth: Strong foundation in facilities design and development, facility technologies, real estate management, emergency preparedness, and project management.
- Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Ability to balance stakeholders, manage complexity, direct work effectively, collaborate across teams, and value diverse perspectives while applying quality principles and continuous improvement practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of senior Facilities or Real Estate leadership experience, including managing multi-site portfolios, leading teams, and scaling Integrated Facilities Management.
- Significant relevant experience required, including managerial, budgetary, and P&L responsibility for large, complex regional operations.
- IFMA, BOMA, or other Corporate Real Estate certifications preferred.
