Event Assistant – Reuters Events

We are seeking a proactive Event Assistant with a winning mindset, exceptional accuracy, and strong time management skills to join our Operations Team in Mexico City. In this role, you will be an essential player supporting our Event Managers in executing a diverse portfolio of international, in-person events. Your initiative, problem-solving skills, and mastery of event technology will ensure our events run seamlessly and set new standards for excellence.

About the Role:

As an Event Assistant you will:

  • Support the Event Operations team in planning and delivering outstanding events.

  • Manage event apps and technology platforms, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date, and resolve any technical issues swiftly.

  • Assist in sourcing, negotiating, and contracting suppliers to deliver exceptional value and quality.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to guarantee flawless coordination.

  • Provide remote support during live events, monitoring systems and troubleshooting technical challenges in real time.

  • Contribute to post-event reporting and archiving, helping shape best practices for future events.

  • Quick to learn new processes, tools, and concepts.

  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities in a high-energy environment.

  • Proactive, resourceful, and always ready to take initiative when challenges arise.

  • Exceptionally attentive to detail.

  • A collaborative team player, skilled at building positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Commercially aware, able to deliver results within budget while upholding the highest quality standards.
