Job Details

We are looking for a talented Quality Inspector – Level II – Onsite to join our team specializing in Quality at our facility in Mineral Point, WI, US.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

 Protect product integrity at every release point by verifying finished goods against technical specifications before they leave the production line—preventing defects from reaching customers and safeguarding the company’s reputation.

 Detect defects early and accurately by comparing physical characteristics of components, materials, and equipment to engineering standards, reducing rework, scrap costs, and downstream production delays.

 Improve production efficiency by quickly segregating non-conforming products using both basic and advanced measurement tools, keeping compliant product flowing without unnecessary bottlenecks.

 Strengthen data-driven decision making by documenting non-conformances clearly and consistently in company systems, providing actionable insights for engineering and operations teams.

 Increase team capability by training colleagues on proper measurement techniques, correct product segregation, and accurate documentation—raising overall quality competency across shifts.

 Ensure compliance with company quality standards by strictly following established norms and procedures, reducing risk of audits, customer complaints, and regulatory issues.

 Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring defect trends and collaborating with production and engineering to eliminate root causes.

 Build trust across departments by serving as a reliable quality checkpoint under moderate supervision—demonstrating accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in every batch inspected.

  • Complete capability studies on critical, major and minor characteristics
  • Support Calibration system (inspection, test equipment, functional gages )
  • Assist with the development of JQA’s (Job Quality Analysis Sheets)
  • Document & record data collected on inspection forms legibly
  • Keep work area safe and clean (5S – Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Team Leader

Responsibilities

To be successful, you will need to consistently demonstrate the following:

 Be action oriented by stepping into quality issues with urgency and energy—addressing defects quickly, taking ownership of challenges on the production line, and driving resolution without waiting to be prompted.

 Collaborate across functions by building strong partnerships with production, engineering, supply chain, and lab teams to solve quality issues and meet shared operational goals.

 Communicate effectively at all levels by clearly explaining technical findings to operators, summarizing defect trends for leadership, and delivering practical training on measurement equipment and documentation systems.

 Maintain strong customer focus by understanding that every inspection decision impacts the end user—ensuring only conforming product moves forward and supporting customer-centric quality solutions.

 Demonstrate strong decision quality by making timely, data-based judgments on product conformity, containment actions, and escalation—keeping production moving while protecting standards.

 Manage conflict constructively by handling disagreements over product disposition or root cause calmly and professionally, focusing on facts, specifications, and shared objectives rather than blame.

 Be resourceful under pressure by efficiently using measurement equipment, systems, time, and technical support to resolve issues without disrupting flow more than necessary.

 Apply Measurement Science (Metrology) by understanding traceability, sources of measurement uncertainty, and proper calibration practices across dimensional, mechanical, electrical, or other relevant measurement systems—ensuring inspection results are accurate and defensible.

 Leverage Quality Process Management tools by effectively using APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, capability studies, audits, inspections, and testing methods to prevent defects—not just detect them.

 Value differences in perspective and experience by recognizing that operators, engineers, technicians, and auditors all bring unique insights that strengthen quality outcomes.

 Demonstrate Laboratory Management awareness (if applicable) by supporting certification/accreditation requirements, managing technical resources responsibly, and aligning laboratory practices with both technical rigor and business performance goals.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
