As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping our life‑enhancing devices performing at their best. You’ll become a trusted partner to clinicians, ensuring equipment they rely on is safe, reliable, and ready when patients need it most.

If you love solving problems, thrive in fast‑paced environments, and want your work to have real impact, this role offers purpose, challenge, and growth in equal measure.

What You Will Do

As the go‑to technical expert for your region, you will:

  • Repair, service, and test Stryker’s electronic and mechanical devices to manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver preventive maintenance, calibrations, and annual checks on equipment in hospitals and clinical settings.
  • Install systems and complete hardware and software upgrades at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to clinicians.
  • Manage your own schedule and regional travel with autonomy while meeting service commitments.
  • Partner with Customer Service to keep workflows smooth and customer expectations met.
  • Document all service activities accurately for compliance and full traceability.
  • Support internal teams and customers with technical advice and training.
  • Action recalls, field safety notices, and regulatory‑driven field actions in collaboration with quality teams.
  • Identify and escalate insights on product performance and customer needs to drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Medical Electronics, Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, Mechanical, Software, Medical Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong hands‑on technical capability and troubleshooting ability.
Preferred
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, or trade experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities.
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing technical training to support your growth.
  • Competitive salary plus performance incentives.
  • Career development within a global industry leader.
  • A culture that celebrates teamwork, inclusion, growth, and shared purpose.
Additional Information
  • The role involves regular travel across your assigned region.
  • Work takes place in varied environments, including workshops, hospitals, and operating theatres.
  • Electrical licensing in New Zealand is required and may vary depending on the work performed.
