DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Back-up Scheduler to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Forest City, NC .

Job Summary:

Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with direct guidance.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

QUALIFICATIONS

Overview:

Schedulers’ main priority is to schedule and build lists for production. Overtime this role will become an expert with material and understand how to piece material together to maintain production flow. This role requires a level of excel knowledge and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • 100% when Scheduler is NOT on shift:
  • Building daily production schedules for shift production using MRP systems and excel to schedule and create pick lists
  • Understanding core axle componentry and how to match up material to schedule based on customer priorities
  • Conduct start of shift walks to count schedule readiness and base component availability
  • Communicate with shipping team on schedules and priorities for directions
  • Work with receiving team to input transacted material to maintain schedule throughout the night
  • Manage returned tickets to begin MIA process
  • Brake Line scheduler
  • 70% when Scheduler is on shift:
  • Support cycle counting activities as back up scheduler: Loose components, brackets, yokes, shafts, brake line components
  • Support production through material support, receiving, shipping, and Interplant needs
  • 30% when Scheduler is on shift:
  • Support MIA hunting as back up scheduler
  • Collect weld tickets for netting off
  • Manage emails and communication between Main Plant and Warehouse
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing/Warehouse environment requiring ability to:

  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Communicate effectively in person, one-on-one and large groups, via telephone, email, or other modes of communication as necessary
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screens and reports as necessary
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
