Procure to pay – Accounts Payable
Your department: Finance & Corporate Services
Responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and service providers. Key activities include invoice processing, payment execution, compliance with internal controls, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Your Role
Purchase Order (PO) Responsibilities
- Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities in PO processing, streamline workflows, and reduce manual interventions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as escalation point for urgent PO issues, high-value orders, and contractual disputes.
- Compliance & Audit: Maintain documentation for SOX controls, PO approval hierarchy, and audit readiness.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track PO cycle time, aging, and compliance metrics, publish dashboards for Procurement and Finance stakeholders.
- PO Aging Management: Monitor open POs, identify POs for closure, assess reasons for closure, support business education to reduce the number of un-used and closed POs.
- Collaborate with Procurement & Accounts Payable (AP): Address invoice and PO discrepancies, resolve bottlenecks to avoid payment delays and business interruption.
- Manage PO lifecycle: Accurate and timely creation, amendments, expedite approvals where required and closure in compliance with procurement policies and contractual terms.
- Validate PO details: Ensure pricing, quantity, payment terms, and delivery schedules align with approved requisitions and contracts.
Supplier Master (SM):
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to SOX controls and audit readiness.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities for supplier onboarding and maintenance.
- Manage supplier lifecycle: Oversee supplier onboarding, updates, and deactivation across ERP systems.
- Data accuracy: Validate tax details (GSTIN, PAN, TDS), banking information, and compliance checks (KYC, sanctions screening). Maintain data quality standards and prevent duplicates.
Leadership & Governance:
- Allocate work, monitor SLAs, and ensure first-time-right accuracy.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and maintain SOPs.
- Act as escalation point for complex supplier or PO issues.
- Coach and develop team members for performance and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with automation/RPA and workflow tools (ServiceNow/Jira).
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Compliance with audit and control requirements.
- Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco’s Conduct principles.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Awareness of technology applications and software, to support procurement complexity and automation efficiencies.
- Experience in ZIP (or similar procurement technologies): Utilize ZIP workflows, catalogs and integration with ERP systems, Oracle PO approvals, requisition-to-PO conversion, and compliance checks.
- Knowledge in Ironclad: Review and integrate contract terms from Ironclad into PO creation, ensure legal and commercial clauses are accurately reflected.
The Experience You Bring
- Updated knowledge of industry trends and best practices in procurement and supplier onboarding.
- Experience in procurement management and administration role
- To be able to act on own initiative and organize workloads to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in a range of other technologies such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to maintain relationships and interact effectively with a variety of individuals across different business functions including at senior levels or external organizations such as clients, suppliers and regulators, are open-minded and flexible.
- Able to analyze and solve issues in a timely manner.
- Able to cooperate in a team environment and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills
Academic requirements
A Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Business is required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred. Knowledge of Financial Services Industry preferred
