Our Content Strategy team is a dynamic group of strategists, technologists, content managers, and editors who collaborate to create engaging, impactful content that drives business results. We work closely with marketing, product, program, enablement, and frontline teams to ensure our messaging resonates across multiple touch points and audiences. Together, we are passionate about storytelling, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
The Content Strategy team is a part of the larger Contact Center Operations team at Zillow Group. We provide our customer-facing partners and self-service help sites with the tools and resources required to function with operational rigor as we strive to give people the power to unlock life’s next chapter.

About the role

We are seeking a Visual Content Creator to elevate the clarity, usability, and engagement of our customer and frontline-facing help content. This role is critical for transforming text-heavy help articles into intuitive, scannable visual aids that improve audience understanding and self-service success.

You will leverage design and motion graphics expertise to partner with content teams, translating complex instructional content into visual materials that reduce friction in the customer journey and improve the overall user experience. Your work will directly impact content findability and comprehension.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Visual Content Production: Design and produce a range of visual assets, including static images, image macros, infographics, short animations/GIFs, and short tutorial videos to support and clarify help articles.

  • Content Translation & Information Design: Work closely with Content Strategists to analyze existing help content and identify opportunities to replace or augment text with visual elements that measurably improve comprehension and speed of resolution.

  • Visual Storytelling & Clarity: Apply UX and information design principles to ensure all visual assets simplify complex processes, clearly communicate steps, and adhere to a unified visual style and brand voice.

  • Asset Management: Organize, tag, and maintain a high-quality library of visual assets within our Content Management System (CMS) to ensure efficient reusability, version control, and consistent delivery across all platforms.

  • Optimization & Testing: Partner with the Content Intelligence Manager and Content Designers to track the performance of visual assets, identify gaps, and iterate on designs based on data insights related to engagement and self-service KPIs.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Content Strategy, Website Design, and Product teams to align visual content with overall product and self-service experience goals.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

You are a creative designer with a strong emphasis on clarity, usability, and strategic content goals. You are a visual storyteller who can simplify complex instructional processes into clear, easy-to-digest visuals. You thrive in a content-first environment where design serves the strategic goal of user self-service success.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in Graphic Design, Visual Content Creation, or Motion Design, ideally within a technical support, content marketing, or user experience (UX) environment.

  • Mandatory: A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in Information Design, illustration, and motion graphics for instructional or technical content.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and animation software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools).

  • Experience creating short-form video or animated content optimized for web and mobile delivery.

  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and the process of integrating visual assets into web-based help documentation.

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Information Design Mastery: Deep expertise in using visual elements (layout, color, hierarchy) to improve content comprehension and usability.

  • Visual Storytelling: Exceptional ability to distill complex procedures or concepts into accurate and engaging visual narratives.

  • Design-Content Integration: Proven ability to work alongside Content Strategists and writers to ensure seamless alignment between text and visual assets.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level ability to produce high-quality assets quickly across various formats (static, motion, vector) while managing file optimization for web performance.

  • Accessibility Focus: Strong understanding of best practices for visual accessibility (color contrast, alt text, motion sensitivity).
