DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Channel Readiness Specialist supports the timely execution of global and regional channel readiness and management processes. The role ensures effective communication between global, regional, and cross-functional teams while contributing to overall India channel effectiveness, including project execution, collaboration on initiatives, and driving ecosystem readiness across product, people, service, systems, and end-user requirements.

Key Responsibilities Channel Readiness & Alignment

Develop a strong understanding of the distribution channel, including capability levels, readiness challenges, dealer structures, OEM relationships, and channel types (independent, owned, or joint venture).

Work toward achieving “ecosystem readiness” by ensuring alignment across product, people, service, systems, and end-user expectations.

Identify and escalate readiness gaps during functional reviews and program discussions.

Explain and advocate for the role of readiness in supporting end-customer satisfaction and protecting Cummins brand integrity.

Program Support & Deliverables

Represent the channel readiness voice throughout VPI (Value Package Introduction) and NPI (New Product Introduction) programs.

Ensure timely delivery of Customer Care Parts, Information, Tools, and Training (PITT) requirements.

Prepare and deliver documentation, status updates, issues, risks, and improvement proposals for various VPI/NPI programs.

Co-own the global consolidation and communication of regional readiness data for product teams and regional stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate closely with new product development teams and functional leaders to ensure alignment on product readiness requirements.

Work with regional channel readiness teams to communicate expectations, gather feedback, and problem-solve issues.

Support Global Channel Readiness Managers by responding to regional queries and connecting them with appropriate Cummins resources when needed.

Organize regular and ad hoc forums, reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions between global and regional channel teams.

Process & Tool Improvement

Support the development and implementation of new processes, tools, and data solutions that improve the efficiency of global readiness.

Contribute to initiatives that enhance India channel effectiveness, including local projects, collaboration efforts, and strategic improvements.

Leadership & Culture

Demonstrate Cummins leadership behaviors consistently and build strong relationships across global and regional teams.

Uphold Cummins brand integrity by professionally addressing miscommunications, practical challenges, and misalignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

University or college degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Management) or equivalent professional experience is required.

This position may require licensing to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

Experience in managerial roles, product support, project management, and teamwork is required.

Channel-related experience, strategic planning exposure, and budgetary experience are preferred.

Prior involvement in cross-functional, global, or regional projects will be an added advantage.
