Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats to risk management.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned and highly analytical Vice President to lead two critical functions within the Global Markets Group Team.

This VP role provides leadership across two high‑impact functions - Global Interaction Support and the Market Survey Team. The leader will combine strategic ownership with hands‑on expertise, overseeing data governance, survey execution, vendor coordination, insights generation, workflow optimization, and automation initiatives that directly influence client revenue, broker vote outcomes, and IED commercial strategy.

The ideal candidate blends data fluency, operational rigor, technology partnership, stakeholder management and people leadership, and can elevate both functions through innovation, automation, and tight process controls.

The role requires working with Equities Sales, Trading, Research, senior management, Technology teams and external vendors to develop data infrastructure and analytics that drive client strategy and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Interaction Support (GIS)

  • Provide oversight of data‑integrity governance and quality of interaction‑data submissions across all vendors, ensuring the GIS team manages cross‑functional coordination, exception handling, and timely escalation of issues within defined control standards.

  • Partner globally with Sales, Research, Corporate Access, Legal, and Technology to align client‑interaction workflows with business needs.

  • Manage senior‑level relationships with vendors and broker‑liaison teams to resolve data issues and ensure consistent data standards.

  • Market Survey Team (MST)

  • Survey Management & Execution

  • Oversee complete lifecycle of surveys for McLagan and Coalition from data and client mapping through to results.

  • Ensure high‑quality submissions, accurate categorisation, reconciliation, and timely cross‑functional execution.

  • Insight Generation

  • Provide oversight of the end‑to‑end survey lifecycle (McLagan, Coalition), ensuring accurate data inputs, consistent mapping, robust validation, and timely global execution.

  • Lead creation of global and region‑specific emails, summary decks, and visually compelling Opportunity Packs that translate data into clear commercial narratives.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with Sales, regional stakeholders, and global partners across London, New York, and Hong Kong to ensure alignment and timely execution.

  • Manage relationships with survey vendors, resolving data discrepancies, clarifying methodologies, and ensuring adherence to submission standards.

  • Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the Mumbai‑based GIS and MST teams. Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrate hands‑on leadership by resolving complex data exceptions, while empowering the team with best‑practice frameworks and escalation protocols.

  • Governance, Controls & Data Integrity

  • Provide oversight of governance frameworks across GIS and MST, ensuring strong data‑integrity controls, reconciliation standards, and risk‑mitigation processes across all datasets and survey/vendor workflows.

  • Oversee exception management, cross‑functional coordination, and timely escalation of material issues in alignment with firmwide control standards.

  • Ensure auditability, accuracy, and regulatory/commercial compliance across all interaction‑data and survey processes, strengthening operational resilience and transparency.

  • Automation & Efficiency

  • Partner with Technology and global stakeholders to identify and drive process improvements, enhancing data capture, workflow efficiency, and data‑integrity controls across GIS and MST.

  • Define and lead automation initiatives, including providing functional requirements, guiding IT on solution design, and overseeing UAT for system and process upgrades specifically for both teams.

  • Own governance documentation, creating and maintaining BRDs and functional specifications that reflect evolving business and operational needs.

  • Lead the development of in‑house automation solutions and cultivate a team culture that proactively identifies manual pain‑points, converting them into scalable, technology‑enabled and AI driven workflows.

Skills required.

  • MBA, CA or Post‑Graduate with 10–14 years of experience in Financial Services, especially across Mclagan, Coalition and Interaction Data Submission on 3rd party vendors.

  • 3+ years of experience in team management. Experience in coaching, developing, and elevating teams.

  • Proven ability to lead data-intensive, deadline-driven, and multi-stakeholder workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (UI Path, Power BI etc. preferred).

  • Familiarity with interaction data, vendor platforms, Mclagan & Coalition surveys, and client analytics required

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across global teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complexity and presenting insights to senior leaders, key stakeholder.

  • Comfortable steering cross‑functional work with Technology, including automation strategy, pipeline development, BRD oversight, UAT governance, and workflow engineering.

  • Ability to lead and deliver AI‑enabled and in‑house automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scale, and process robustness.
