We are looking for a talented SAP Technical Functional Excellence Manager to join our team specializing in Technology and integrations for our Distribution business in Atlanta, Georgia.
Job Summary:
Manages improvement for the overall effectiveness of one or more functions. Consults and supports processes, capabilities, systems and data for the function aligned to end-to-end value stream performance goals. Partners to drive improvement activities within the function to deliver performance objectives of impacted value streams and improve outcomes for customers. Stays connected within relevent industries to support advancement within the function and position the company for sustainability and growth.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead the coordination of functional maturity goals by bringing business leaders, functional leaders, and end‑to‑end process owners into alignment around shared priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Shape and manage the functional excellence strategy and roadmap, ensuring the function advances toward its maturity goals through clear direction, disciplined execution, and continuous refinement.
- Oversee performance metrics that directly support one or more internal value chains or end‑to‑end processes, enabling data‑driven decisions and transparent performance management.
- Strengthen enterprise‑level governance of functional processes, systems, and data, ensuring consistency, quality, and integration across the end‑to‑end framework.
- Support global functional talent development by contributing to position profiles, competency models, and learning needs that build capability and readiness across the function.
- Advance the functional learning strategy by integrating experiential learning, networking, professional associations, and formal training to build a robust, future‑ready talent pipeline.
- Apply business insight to identify growth opportunities that enhance functional performance and improve outcomes for internal and external customers.
- Build and sustain deep operational knowledge of relevant practices, analytics, governance, and quality, engaging with industry experts and peers to bring best practices into the organization and deliver measurable, high‑value improvements.

- Value and leverage differences Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Significant relevant experience required, including managerial experience. Prefer strong experience leading strategic and change efforts within a function or business unit; and the ability to make and drive connections across relevant work streams. Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as ability to work comfortably amidst ambiguity important for success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience preferred (because of the GPP we can’t change it to required): 10-12 years.
- Significant relevant experience required, including managerial experience. Prefer strong experience leading strategic and change efforts within a function or business unit, and the ability to build and drive connections across relevant workstreams.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to work comfortably amidst ambiguity, are important for success in this role.
- Knowledge of SAP industry best business practices is required with relevant experience in Automotive or Manufacturing domains.
- Over 10 to 12 years of experience working across business and IT with strong project delivery experience, as an SAP ABAP and FIORI Developer, which involves multi-module implementation of SAP ERP solutions with ECC6.0 or S/4 HANA, will be key differentiators.
- Hands-on experience of SAP ABAP programming, FIORI UI5 Apps, SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration, WebIDE, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP BTP and Integration Suite, RAP, SAP Fiori Theme designer, oDATA, Restful, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, jQuery, JSON, Debugging, SAP Note deployment, Monitoring & Support.
- Candidates with SAP Certification and extensive implementation experience within ECC6.0 or S/4 HANA, will be preferred.
- Highly desirable to have cross-functional experience in MM, SD, FICO, PP, and CS modules, native integration and data management, and have worked with middleware like MuleSoft, and to have in-depth cross-functional subject matter expertise, Incident management, and Production support with ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA 1809 or higher.
- Must have worked with SAP S/4 HANA projects and phased global implementations at multi-national industries and led technical project teams in an Agile manner for rollouts.
- Experience with EDI (EDIFACT and ANSI X12) Idocs is highly desirable and will be a game-changer.
- Additionally, must be able to demonstrate succinct presentation skills, problem-solving, analytical skills, and be able to effectively coach IT technical analysts.
- Showcase at least 2 successful end-to-end implementations of SAP ECC6.0 and S/4 HANA projects in mid-size industries, and 1 implementation in a large-size manufacturing industry will be a distinguishing factor for the ideal candidate.
- Experienced in managing partnerships with third-party system integrators and other service providers in a project implementation.
- Thorough knowledge of professional frameworks governing IT audits and will be required to liaise effectively with the internal and external audit team to ensure that changes in scope is agreed and that quality review work is performed at appropriate times in the audit.
