We are looking for a talented candidate to join our Technical Strategy and Integration team located in Italy. We are offering a 12-month apprenticeship contract.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop advanced 1-D engine system performance and 3-D combustion CFD models for current and future powertrain technologies
  • Develop automated 1D/3D co-simulation process and utilize the process to develop high fidelity digital twins, evaluate key engine system performance architectural contents, and conduct virtual calibration
  • Conduct thermal and structural analysis of key engine components by closely coupling with 3-D in-cylinder combustion CFD
  • Participate in platform engineering development programs to fulfill the combustion and performance simulation function requirements
  • Develop and maintain state-of-the-art, streamlined analysis led combustion and performance system development process

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Academic experience in conducting 1-D engine system performance analysis. Additional experience in conducting 3-D combustion CFD and 1D/3D cos-simulation is highly desired
  • In-depth knowledge on thermodynamics, combustion, and engine performance
  • Hands-on experience on using and customizing system performance and combustion modeling tools, such as GT-Suite and CONVERGE
  • Proficient with data processing and visualization tools, such as Matlab, Python, Tecplot, Ensight, Paraview
  • Fluent English (C1)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Student in Mechanical Engineering or other thermal fluid disciplines relevant to the job assignments
  • PhD in thermal fluid disciplines relevant to the job assignments will be highly evaluated
