DESCRIPTION

The Corporate Engineering Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing financial analyses and reports to support department managers and engineering leadership. This role partners closely with Corporate Engineering and Shared Lab teams to support monthly and year-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and cost recovery processes. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and alignment of engineering activities with financial targets and corporate guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly and year-end financial close activities, ensuring accurate and timely submission of all financial entries
  • Prepare, consolidate, and analyze financial and statistical data, including variance analysis, trend insights, and cost analysis
  • Conduct comprehensive financial reviews to monitor operational costs, efficiency, risks, and variances
  • Partner with assigned organizational units to develop annual budgets, expense forecasts, staffing forecasts, and AOPs
  • Support forecasting and AOP preparation in collaboration with engineering leaders to align operational plans with financial targets
  • Perform effort-based billing rate calculations to ensure appropriate cost recovery and compliance with corporate guidelines
  • Manage invoicing activities, including preparation, validation, submission, and follow-up to ensure timely recoveries
  • Handle end-to-end financial processes to support smooth functioning of Corporate Engineering Responsibility Centers (RCs)
  • Review and approve test quotations submitted for Shared Lab requests
  • Identify appropriate testing rates using cost models and market benchmarking
  • Define, review, and update Equipment Rates and Testing Rates annually in collaboration with Lab teams
  • Perform post-billing analysis to evaluate actual costs, recoveries, and potential losses, and allocate results to respective Business Units
  • Prepare financial performance reports, variance explanations, and insights for department managers and stakeholders
  • Execute special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as assigned

Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Minimal relevant professional work experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Financial analysis, including trend analysis, variance analysis, and cost monitoring
  • Financial reporting and consolidation in support of business decision-making
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and AOP preparation
  • Invoicing, billing rate calculations, and cost recovery processes
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and compliance requirements
  • Ability to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data and investigate variances
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in end to end financial and accounting process for multiple or specific business unit.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Looking for qualified CA / CMA with 3 or more years of corporate experience. Preferably in a shared service or captive setup would be an added advantage.
